About

Mission
Vision
The Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, Science & History — known as The Brown — is the next evolution of the Museum of Arts & Sciences, a cultural cornerstone in Central Florida for more than six decades. Built on a legacy of art, science, and environmental stewardship, The Brown represents a bold reimagining of what a modern museum can be: immersive, interdisciplinary, technologically rich, and deeply connected to the community it serves.
Fueled by a historic philanthropic investment from Cici and Hyatt Brown and supported by the Crown Jewel Campaign, this project will unify the museum’s mission under one roof through a dynamic new campus featuring expanded galleries, advanced learning environments, a 60-foot planetarium dome, a reimagined Children’s experience, a state-of-the-art Collections facility, a central Visitor Nexus, and new indoor–outdoor activation spaces along the Tuscawilla Preserve.
With construction set to begin following the museum’s temporary closure in 2026, The Brown will elevate the region’s cultural landscape, preserve the museum’s renowned collections for generations to come, and create new pathways for discovery, storytelling, and learning.
This transformation is more than a new building. It is a new beginning for arts, science, and history in Central Florida.
To ignite curiosity and connection to art, science, and history that creates a lasting impact with our communities.
We strive to be a cornerstone of our communities where all minds are expanded and spirits are sparked, creating deeper connections to the world using the nexus of art, science, and history.
