The Museum of Arts and Science (MOAS) in Daytona Beach is soon to undergo a massive transformation, following an enormous donation of $150 million. The contribution is coming from Cici and Hyatt Brown, the latter of whom is the former CEO of Brown & Brown Insurance. As such, the facility will be renamed ‘The Brown’.

The Daytona Beach Museum of Arts and Sciences is stepping into a new era: it is now “The Brown: The Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, Science & History.” The change is not just about the name, which honors the museum’s long-time benefactors Cici and Hyatt Brown. The transition signifies the museum is stepping onto a new stage, one with a lofty vision of becoming the “crown jewel” and cultural heart of Volusia County.

The media got a sneak peek at the Museum of Arts and Sciences’ new exhibit, 'Expedition: Dinosaur', Friday, Oct. 10, 2025. This immersive exhibition features over a dozen life-like animatronic dinosaurs, hands-on interactive, and thrilling special effects that bring the prehistoric world to life. From fossil digs to augmented reality adventures. The exhibit will open October 11, 2025, and is available through March 29, 2026. Details won't be revealed until the beginning of December, but there's going to be a new building constructed near the museum property's Nova Road entrance, and there will be a new chapter for the museum's building that's been located back in the woods for decades.

Expedition: Dinosaurs combines life-like animatronics with interactive activities throughout the Children’s Museum.
