Project Progress & Updates

As we prepare for this exciting journey, some gallery spaces may be temporarily closed or reconfigured. Here’s the latest on what's happening:

Updates as of May 8, 2025

Root Family Museum Update

As part of our broader transformation, visitors may begin to notice some quiet changes taking place within the Root Family Museum. These gradual updates are part of a thoughtful and ongoing process, carried out in close coordination with the Root family. We are committed to maintaining the integrity and care of the collection as we continue this important work. While certain artifacts may shift or be deinstalled over the coming months, these changes are part of a larger process aimed at honoring the past while preparing for what's ahead. More details will be shared as plans evolve.

Children’s Museum Update

The Children's Museum will once again host our Summer Learning Institute which will take place from June 9th, 2025 to August 1st, 2025. After that, we are very excited to announce that the Children's Museum will be home to Expedition: Dinosaur, which will open to the public in October.

The Museum of Arts & Sciences is undergoing a bold transformation—one that will elevate MOAS from a beloved community institution to a world-class destination for art, science, and history in Central Florida. Through an extensive master planning process, we've reimagined our campus as a unified and welcoming place that sparks curiosity, fosters learning, and brings people together.
